Scented Rapeseed Wax Candle Pot

This limited-edition, rapeseed wax candle with a soothing mix of essential oil fragrances has been especially designed for Aerende's pop-up at the Maiyet Collective in London. For the first time we have united the skills of two of our maker groups in one product – the pots have been handmade at a residential community supporting adults with learning disabilities in Gloucestershire and the wax has been scented and poured by a social firm employing adults with learning disabilities in Brecon, Wales, creating hours of purpose and meaningful work, as well as supporting these organisations financially. See our Makers page for more details.

Hours of research and care has gone into making these the most ethical candle available in the UK. We have opted for rapeseed wax as a more sustainable option than soya, coconut or conventional paraffin and wanted to ensure we had an animal-free option in our range. By committing to 100% organic essential oils, we have ensured that our candles are as safe to create as they are to burn (many 'natural' fragrances contain some worrying ingredients and have been linked with concerning side effects). Scents of ylang ylang, neroli and balsam copaiba have a relaxing and de-stressing effect while petitgrain adds an uplifting note. The pot can be used in multiple ways once the candle is finished.

Due to the organic materials and handmade nature of these pots, some natural variation in colour and shape may occur. Images depict the item as accurately as possible.

This may sound obvious, but the pot can get hot. We recommend placing on a coaster and leaving to cool before moving. To ensure an even burn to the bottom, once your candle is lit, do not blow it out until the wax has evenly melted across the top. Using a snuffer will help to ensure an even burn.
